"That's Dave Ransom!"

About 25 years ago Dave found himself in exile. Nobody knew his crime but it must have been a dastardly act because he was banished to Buxton.

His penance: to mix amongst the locals as principle of Harper Hill College.

It was a "local college" for "local people" and two of those locals were Dave Green and Russell Smith.

"Can we play basketball in your sports hall?" said Local Dave to England Basketball Dave.

"If you can get 3 others to join you and form a team, you can have it for free." said England Basketball Dave to Local Dave.

3 more locals were rounded up from the fields, springs and quarries and basketball came to Buxton.

England Basketball Dave had big ideas for basketball but none of them involved Buxton. Mr Ransom was present at the birth but has been an absent father ever since. His file at the Child Support Agency is still open.
