Congleton controlled the game from the first period when they established a 21-8 lead and extended that lead in each period.

Period 2, 11-7; period 3, 15-14; period 4, 21-11.

Three of the Thornleigh team fouled out but it was  a scrappy match with Congleton’s dominance coming from their superior outside shooting, five from eight 3 pointers and strong driving into the open gaps caused by the outside shots.
