The game for Bury began with an awful start when Si Sawyer gave away four free throws and picked up a Technical foul in the process, giving away four quick points. This was soon diminished as Bury began firing from long range hitting five triples in the first quarter. The intensity they brought was infectious and the full court press was run hard allowing some easy buckets for the home side. The veteran Chris Mccormick made great passes and also hit some outside shots, extending the lead.
The game was played at a high level and Ste Graham used his athleticism to get to the basket. Allen Hall mixed it up inside and out and Oldham struggled to find an answer. At the half Bury led by 58 to 36.
Bury slowed the game which seemed to let Oldham back into the flow but they could not capitalise on their chances. Bury also struggled until Allen Hall scored eight straight to give them momentum back to Bury. New Boy Kieran Forsythe joined in the action with a one on four move which ended with a flip that hit nothing but net
The fourth allowed Bury to pull away and extend the lead. Ste Graham's best play was denied as he went in for a hard dunk and was fouled hard, getting hit in the face. He gathered his composure and made the ensuing free throws, helping his team hold Oldham to only 9 fourth quarter points.
Bury played as a team and the chemistry is growing with every game.
