MANCHESTER AREA BASKETBALL LEAGUE
2007/8 Season Match Reports 20th Nov 2007
Division Oldham 48-119 Stockport
48 points from 3's Report by Nikos Silikas

The score line is quite revealing for the type of game that took place. In Oldham’s defence, despite the fact that they only had six players available they never even considered postponing the game.

The first quarter was the closest one finished with Stockport leading by 21-15. In the second quarter two identical 16-2 runs from Stockport, one in the beginning and one in the end of the quarter, effectively ended the game at half time.

The third and fourth quarter were just a formality with Stockport increasing the difference and scoring 66-15 in the second half! In total Stockport scored 16 3-pointer shots!

The two Siddals, Dave and Neil, led the scorers with 30 and 20 points respectively. They also took turns in scoring with Neil dominating the first half, making 19 of his 20 points, and Dave the second half with 24 of his 30 points! Andy White had another great game finishing with 15 points. Overall, Stockport demonstrated an enthusiastic approach to the game with emphasis on scoring. Hopefully, the team starts to gel together a bit more. The next couple of weeks (cup and league) will be a tough test for the team.
