This was a very tough game for Stockport that was contested until the last minute. Both teams displayed tough defence.

In the first quarter Stockport were leading by 21-15 and that lead remained for most of the game. Blackpool came back very strong in the last quarter and with four minutes to go the score was level. Fortunately, Stockport managed to keep their cool and convert crucial free throws in the last minutes to end the game as winners.
Dave Siddall was the Stockport’s top scorer with his usual 26 points (see previous report)! Mike Greenough had 13 points with three 3’s and 4/4 free throws. Anthony Crow had 13 also and Noel Power had 11 points. I should also mention our assistant coach Aldo Cervi who constantly motivated the players and was very helpful keeping the team fresh through our rotation system.

This win, in connection with the other results in the league, means that Stockport is now the Premier League winners with a game to spare. Congratulations to everybody in the team for their fantastic contribution and a very successful season.

Now we need to maintain the momentum for what promises to be extremely interesting and competitive play-offs.
