A few wrong turns on the way to Burnley's new venue saw a depleted Oldham Spindles team trailing by seven points in the opening quarter of their recent game.
 
The Spindles rallied in the second quarter as the lead changed hands several times, until seven unanswered points from Oldham tied the game at the half.
 
It was more of the same going in to the third period, as neither team was able to get a firm lead. Some great team defence in the fourth quarter was the turning point for Oldham as they capitalised on some bad shots from the home side and quickly broke out into a fourteen point lead.
 
Oldham continued their dominance for the final ten minutes and in a game that saw six of their eight players score in double digits, the Spindles ran out as 9 point victors.
