MBC 49 Oldham Spindles 68 Prem Div November 9th 2006 Report by Ian Brown |
It was a scrappy game at the Velodrome right from the opening whistle. The Spindles had one of their poorest turnouts in seasons, with several players injured, including three starters. Long serving players, Don Errock and Graeme Herstell returned and stepped in to the line-up. Neither team seemed able to establish any kind of run and everyone struggled to find their shooting range. Rebounding under the basket was a struggle for both teams, as nearly every missed shot bounced awkwardly off those rims. Oldham were able to pick up the slack in the second half and went into the fourth with a ten point lead and never looked back. John Lindsay lead the way for Oldham with 27 points with Lee Isherwood adding 11. |
